In a live-stream covering the Capcom Spotlight, notable leaker PH Brazil says that PlayStation will host a State of Play next Friday, February 14th. The leaked date was previously hinted at by another credible insider, NateTheHate

In the clip, PH Brazil comments on whether we’ll see some big announcements in the Capcom Spotlight, saying: “You heard it here first, on the 14th next Friday, for the first time ever, there is a Sony State of Play. So I think if they were going to announce something [big] they would save it for one of these other events.” The other event PH Brazil mentions is the rumoured Nintendo Direct, which he had previously said would take place in February as well.

Potential Resident Evil 9 Announcement

Valentine’s Day is a curious date for a State of Play. If Capcom were indeed to make an appearance at the event, then the date points to an obvious choice as to what franchise the publisher would showcase–Resident Evil. More specifically, the ninth entry into the franchise that has been long-rumoured to star the beloved Jill Valentine. Though some leakers have debunked the theory of Jill being the upcoming game’s protagonist, suggesting that Leon Kennedy would once again don the game’s cover, if this date by PH Brazil holds, a Jill Valentine reveal in a new Resident Evil game would be quite perfect.
