Hey, Netflix, congrats on joining the oligopoly—I’m sure this won’t in any way negatively impact the film and television industry and the experience of your customers and employees. But I’m not here to talk about that. What I am here to do is file a request. Not a complaint, as I’m sure your HR department has its hands full with those, but a request: Bring back Batman: Arkham and the Nemesis System.

Rocksteady Studios has been doing a whole bunch of nothing ever since releasing Arkham Knight back in 2015. No, I’m not going to remember Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, and I’m sure Rocksteady themselves would be grateful for such forgetfulness. And no, Arkham VR doesn’t count because it’s a VR game and nobody cares about VR (even though I have heard it’s actually a pretty decent game, but saying so would negate my argument). It’s time for the Caped Crusader to return home to the Batcave. I don’t care if you have to make Rocksteady churn out three Batman gacha games to put on your Netflix queue and get these kids invested in gambling, as long as you get them back into making a proper next-gen Arkham title.

Batman: Arkham Knight
The only billionaire we need right now.

Secondly, you need to bring back the Nemsis System. Monolith Productions created such an amazing mechanic with Shadow of Mordor back in 2014. Then, WB. Games took that from ‘em, made a patent so that no other studio could use the mechanic, and then shuttered the studio. God damn. Monolith Productions was working on a Wonder Woman game before the studio’s closure. To think that the Nemesis System could’ve made a comeback in such a game is simply sad to think about.

So, Netflix, I know ya’ll don’t know nor care much about games (heck, you basically said as such), but please, do the right thing, bring back the Nemsis System and get Rocksteady to work on a true next-gen Arkham game. And here’s a thought: Bring ‘em back…together!
